The 2003 legislative session will be considering a proposed bill that would change registration to licensing for all drug and alcohol counselors in Kansas, and would move all drug and alcohol counselors under one agency umbrella. Stay tuned for further developments on this issue.

How to apply

There is a $10.00 duplication fee for application packets mailed to you. You may request these packets through the Board Office in writing.
Please be specific which packet you are requesting in your letter.

Renewal information

     On-Line Renewal

Registrations are issued for a 2-year period, and expire on the last day of the month. Renewal notices are sent to the last address on file with the Board, and are sent approximately 90 days prior to expiration of the registration. Renewals will not be processed prior to 90 days of the license expiration date.  The notices are a courtesy to registrants, but the responsibility to renew on time remains with the registrant.

Renewal of registration require 30 hours of Continuing Education within the 24 month period of registration in order to renew, with 3 of those hours being in Ethics
